Jávea, Costa Blanca

It is wonderful on the Costa Blanca coast!

Jávea is a charming seaside town on the Costa Blanca, located in the province of Alicante in the Valencia region. It lies between the capes of Cabo de San Antonio and La Nao, sheltered by the magical Montgó mountain.

Jávea has just over 27,000 inhabitants. It is a surprisingly expansive area consisting of the authentic old town, a lively port and the well-known boulevard of El Arenal. A true gem where a pleasant microclimate brings mild winters and warm, balmy summers.

The Old Town of Jávea

The old town is still truly authentic and features a small market hall where you can buy many local products. The town is full of narrow streets and picturesque little squares.

Charming tapas restaurants and wine bars are plentiful. The Old Town has many historic buildings and lovely streets where you can enjoy a relaxed stroll.

The Port of Jávea

The fishing port is where fishing boats arrive daily with fresh fish for the fish market and the surrounding restaurants. The port area of Jávea is known as Duanes de la Mar. The beautiful beach near the port completes this lively area.

Next to the fishing port, you will also find a marina in Duanes de la Mar. In the marina, you can enjoy a nice meal, take part in water sports, go diving or rent a boat.

Harbour Javea

El Arenal and small coves such as Cala Moraig

There are many small coves to discover, such as Cala Moraig, Portixol and Cala Clemence. Of course, Jávea also offers a sandy beach, El Arenal. Along the edge of this beautiful sandy beach runs a wide promenade lined with numerous restaurants, bars and shops.

If you enjoy water sports, you will certainly find plenty to do. Popular activities here include jet skiing, water skiing, kayaking, surfing, diving and snorkeling. On the sandy beach you can even play volleyball, and there is a small playground for children.

In the evenings, there are sometimes small markets along the promenade, as well as charming cocktail bars in the lively and well-known area of El Arenal.

The Algar Waterfalls

This is definitely a place you should visit at least once!

You can even swim in the waterfalls, although the water is quite cold.

It’s a beautiful area that you can easily combine with a visit to Guadalest and its stunning reservoirs.
